REFLECTION 1 - THE BEGINNING
I am very passionate about guitar and Football, and although I am not particularly passionate about writing, I think it is amazing, being able to write with both hands, so I am excited to see myself improve there as well. I have a good plan set out and I am thinking of making my project in a movie. I will practice every other day on each project to give myself resting time to help the process, and within the time I am hoping to do most of my written research. I am excited for this project because I love independent working and doing things on my own terms because I feel more freedom and I end up getting work done to a higher standard because I am excited and passionate to work on it. I am excited to work on this and see how it all pans out.
REFLECTION 2 - THE JOURNEY
I have decided that because of Covid-19 and not being able to go outside or to the park to practice my football kicks and handballs with my opposite hand and foot, IÂ will be cutting that experiment from the project. Instead I will focus solely on Learning to finger pick the song 'Is There Anybody Out There' by Pink Floyd, and writing with my left hand. I originally was going to learn 'Time in a Bottle' by Jim Croce, but i found that that wasn't quite the finger picking i was after for this project as it wasn't as fast paced and was more a mix of chord progressions, so i switched songs and am focusing on learning it off by heart. I am already seeing progress in both of my projects and with the information i have found on muscle memory, it will only get more noticeable from here, so i am excited to see the end results.
REFLECTION 3Â - THE FINALE
I have come to the end of my project journey and I have finished all of my experiments. I have successfully learnt 'Is There Anybody Out There' and i can now play it without thinking twice. With my left hand i have gained complete control over my writing and it no longer feels unnatural in the slightest. Of course my writing is still not as neat as my right hand, but i know with a little bit more practice I could practically start doing cursive. I am very happy with the work i have done and this project has been one of the most fun to work on and i have enjoyed putting the time and effort into completing it. I hope to have more projects like this in the future where i can choose something i am passionate about and have freedom over the work i am doing. Quarantine made it more difficult and lack of motivation played a big part in some of the struggles i came when doing this project, but in the end i had a lot of fun and enjoyed seeing myself and my muscle memory progress over the Ignite time period.
